Image of End of Term Message

Dear Parents/Carers,

The completion of this academic year marks a significant point for CHS South in our journey as new High School community. The end of the 2022-23 academic year sees our founding students graduate from their High School experience and await the delivery of our first ever Key Stage 4 results in August 2023; it also sees us securely graded as 'good' following our first Ofsted inspection earlier this year. My thanks go, as always, to our school community; students, staff, our wonderful families, and the local community for all we have achieved together over the year; our latest edition of 'Spotlight on South', showcases achievements from the past term, and can be found here: https://www.chssouth.org.uk/parents/spotlight-on-south

Students return to CHS South for the 2023-2024 academic year on Wednesday 6th September 2023 as follows (details of term dates and INSET days across the new 2023-24 academic year can be found here: https://www.chssouth.org.uk/parents/termdates):

  • Year 8 & Year 11:  From 8:40am - 8:50am
  • Year 9 & Year 10:  From 9:40am - 9:50am

We will be in touch again as we near the end of the holiday period with more details of the Autumn Term. In the meantime, for any family in need of advice and support around the cost of living, benefits, food, bills, mental health, holiday activities, data/digital inclusion over the summer break please see the attached document from Manchester City Council. Alternatively, if you are looking for something to occupy your child over summer, MCRactive have lots of free activities on offer. You can find out more details here: https://www.mcractive.com/activity/free-school-holiday-activities-in-manchester.

Wishing you and your family a safe a restful summer.

Yours sincerely,
