CHS South is incredibly proud to have been awarded the Platinum School Games Mark, the highest accolade available through the national School Games programme. This prestigious award recognises schools that go above and beyond in their commitment to sport, physical activity, and the wider wellbeing of their students.
The award is a testament to the hard work of our PE staff, who continually provide engaging opportunities for students to enjoy sport both inside and outside the classroom. It also reflects the energy and dedication of our students, who embrace a wide range of physical activities, from team sports and competitions to fitness and wellbeing sessions.
A particular highlight in our journey to Platinum was the recognition of our KS4 Health Programme. This unique initiative equips students with essential skills and knowledge to support their health and wellbeing well into adult life. Covering diet and nutrition, active living, personal health awareness, and self-defence, the programme has been praised as an outstanding example of how schools can deliver holistic PE that empowers young people beyond traditional sport.
The Platinum School Games Mark also celebrates the way CHS South promotes inclusivity, ensuring that every student has the chance to take part in physical activity that suits their interests and abilities. From competitive fixtures and inter-school tournaments to recreational clubs and wellbeing sessions, our provision is designed to help every student develop confidence, resilience, and a lifelong love of movement.
Achieving Platinum places CHS South among a select group of schools nationwide that set the standard for sport and wellbeing in education. It demonstrates that our students are not only achieving academic success but are also being supported to lead healthy, balanced, and active lives.
We are proud to receive this recognition and remain committed to ensuring that all of our students continue to be Creative, Happy, and Successful through the power of sport and physical activity.
