We are thrilled to guide your child through the exciting journey into Year 7, where creativity, happiness, and success await. Our transition phase sets the stage for a bright future, making students feel supported and inspired.
Each student's experience is unique, filled with anticipation and opportunities. Our dedicated Transition Team collaborates with primary schools to create a vibrant program that ensures a smooth and enjoyable transition.
What to Expect:
- Summer Term Visits: Our team, along with current Year 7 students, visits local primary schools to connect with future students.
- Induction Day in July: Students explore our school, meet teachers, experience lessons, and form new friendships.
- Effective Communication: We ensure parents/carers stay informed throughout the transition period with regular emails and updates.
For Parents/Carers:
Join us at our Induction Evening, the start of a valuable partnership over the next five years. You’ll receive essential information and have the chance to ask any questions as your child begins their journey with us.
We’re here to support your child’s education and growth. Throughout the year, attend Parents'/Carers' Evenings to engage with teachers and discuss your child's progress.

Join us for an engaging and interactive experience as we embark on the journey of Getting to Know CHS South! Hosted by our dedicated Transition Team, this quiz via Teams promises to be both fun and informative. Test your knowledge, connect with fellow students, and dive deeper into what makes CHS South a vibrant community. Get ready to discover the ins and outs of our school in an exciting way!

9.15am - 2.00pm
Your child will attend a taster day at CHS South, experiencing what school life is like and meeting some of their new teachers. Food will be provided, but students are welcome to bring their own lunch if they prefer. Please ensure that your child wears their primary school uniform for the induction day.

5.00pm - 6.00pm
This is your opportunity to visit the school, meet some of our team, and get your questions answered. Due to the high number of students and limited seating, we must limit guests to one per child to ensure there is enough space for everyone.
