Geography

At CHS South, Geography inspires students to understand the complexities of the world and the challenges it faces. Our curriculum highlights the interconnected nature of human and physical geography, weaving in themes such as climate change, sustainability, and social responsibility across all key stages.

Through fieldwork, enquiry, and GIS skills, students are equipped to analyse the world around them, build critical thinking, and develop a strong sense of global citizenship. Geography at CHS South provides not only knowledge but also the confidence to engage with big questions about people, places, and the planet.

Our Intent

Our mission is to build informed, curious, and responsible geographers who can:

  • Understand the interconnections between people, environments, and places at different scales.

  • Use geographical skills such as map reading, fieldwork, and data analysis confidently.

  • Evaluate how human actions shape physical processes and vice versa.

  • Recognise and challenge social inequalities, developing empathy and resilience.

  • Apply knowledge of local, national, and global issues to become positive agents of change.
