Health & Social Care

Health and Social Care at CHS South gives students the chance to explore one of the UK’s largest and fastest-growing employment sectors. With millions of people working in health and social care, and demand continuing to rise, this course provides a pathway into vital, rewarding, and people-focused careers that make a real difference to society.

Our Intent

Our intent is to help students develop both the knowledge and practical skills needed to succeed in health and social care. Through vocational learning, students gain experience of applying theory to real-life situations, developing confidence and independence along the way.

The course enables students to:

  • Understand human growth and development across life stages.

  • Recognise the impact of life events and the support available.

  • Explore health and social care services and the importance of care values.

  • Develop practical skills in communication, empathy, and support.

  • Apply knowledge to scenarios, interpreting data and creating health improvement plans.

  • Build transferable skills in teamwork, organisation, and resilience.
