Introduction

Mathematics is a universal language that helps us make sense of the world around us. At CHS South, our students explore the power and beauty of Maths, learning to think logically, solve problems creatively, and apply their knowledge to real-life situations.

Our Intent

Our mission is to nurture confident, resilient mathematicians who are equipped with the skills and curiosity to tackle challenges in school and beyond.

The Maths Department aims to:

  • Develop logical thinking, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.

  • Nurture resilience by encouraging students to take risks, make mistakes, and try again.

  • Inspire curiosity and creativity in exploring mathematical ideas.

  • Connect Maths learning to real-life contexts and applications.

  • Build independence and confidence to succeed in GCSE exams and future careers.
