As Year 11 students begin thinking about life after CHS South, now is a great time to start exploring the different options available to them.

Whether your child is considering sixth form, college, an apprenticeship or another route, attending an open event can help them get a feel for what comes next. It is an opportunity to look around, meet staff and current students, explore courses and ask the questions that matter to them.

We have brought together a selection of upcoming post-16 open events across Greater Manchester to help students and families explore their options and start making plans for their next steps.

Finding the right next step

There is no single route that works for everyone. Open events can help your child:

• Explore subjects and courses they may not have considered
• Find out what different colleges and sixth forms are really like
• Speak to staff and students about learning, support and student life
• Discover where different courses could lead in the future
• Ask questions about entry requirements, applications and progression
• Feel more confident about making an informed choice

Encourage your child to go along with an open mind and make the most of the opportunity to ask questions.
