Students at CHS South are celebrating another year of strong GCSE success as they received their results today.
The Class of 2026 achieved an impressive set of outcomes, continuing the school's strong tradition of academic achievement while demonstrating the resilience, determination and ambition that define the CHS South community.
This cohort's journey has been particularly significant. Having experienced disruption to their primary education during the COVID-19 pandemic, including periods of remote learning during Years 5 and 6, students have overcome considerable challenges to reach this important milestone.
Throughout the morning, students, families and staff came together to celebrate individual achievements, exciting next steps and the culmination of years of hard work. The positive atmosphere across the school reflected not only academic success, but also the personal growth and perseverance shown by students throughout their time at CHS South.
Across the curriculum, students achieved strong outcomes. English continued to provide a strong foundation for student success, maintaining the high standards seen in recent years, while Mathematics secured some of the strongest outcomes in the school's history. There were also notable successes across the Sciences, Computing, Languages, History, Religious Education, Performing Arts and vocational subjects, with a number of departments celebrating record or near-record performances.
"I am delighted with the achievements of our students. These outcomes reflect their hard work, resilience and determination over many years and are thoroughly deserved. This cohort has faced unique challenges throughout their educational journey, yet they have continued the strong tradition of success at CHS South. We are incredibly proud of everything they have accomplished. Today is about celebrating each student's individual achievements and the exciting destinations that lie ahead. Whether they have secured places at sixth form, college, apprenticeships or other opportunities, we wish them every success for the future."

CHS South also recognises the invaluable support provided by families and the dedication of staff who have worked alongside students throughout their GCSE studies.
Most importantly, the day was a celebration of young people who have embodied the CHS South Qualities of Success, overcoming challenges, embracing opportunities and achieving their personal goals.
Everyone at CHS South extends their congratulations to the Class of 2026 and looks forward to seeing all they achieve in the years ahead.
