Over 120 CHS South students recognised through national SSAT awards
We are incredibly proud to celebrate the success of our students following external moderation of this year’s SSAT Student Leadership portfolios.
An outstanding 123 CHS South students achieved national recognition through the programme, with 115 students awarded Bronze and 8 students achieving Silver accreditation.
The awards recognise students’ ability to reflect on their development, work collaboratively, demonstrate leadership qualities and make a positive contribution to school life.
Feedback from moderators praised the quality of student self-evaluation and the genuine engagement shown throughout the process. Students were recognised for demonstrating resilience, independence, creativity and a strong awareness of others through their projects and leadership activities.
Particular praise was given to students’ use of peer and staff feedback to shape and strengthen their work, showing a thoughtful and developmental approach to leadership. Moderators highlighted examples of students adapting their thinking, responding to challenge and reflecting carefully on areas for further growth.
Students achieving Silver recognition were commended for showing a wider impact through their work, with evidence of considering and responding to the experiences of others throughout their projects.
Reflecting on the achievement, Ms Farrow, Achievement Coordinator, said:
“I am incredibly proud of every student who took part. Completing a leadership portfolio requires commitment, honesty and a willingness to reflect and improve. To see so many of our students achieve national recognition is fantastic and demonstrates the ambition, resilience and care our students show every day.”
Mr Prophet, Headteacher, added:
“This is a brilliant achievement for our students and a reflection of the culture we continue to build at CHS South. Leadership is about making a positive difference to others, and these awards recognise students who have shown maturity, initiative and a genuine commitment to developing themselves and their school community. Congratulations to every student involved.”
This achievement reflects the commitment, creativity and determination shown by our students and highlights the importance of developing confident, reflective young people who are ready to make a difference.
Congratulations to all 123 students who achieved recognition - a fantastic accomplishment and something the whole CHS South community should be proud of.
Creative. Happy. Successful.
