CHS South Grotto Brings Christmas Cheer to Students

CHS South Grotto Brings Christmas Cheer to Students
17th Dec 2025

The festive spirit has well and truly arrived at CHS South, thanks to the incredible generosity of Mission Christmas - Cash for Kids.

This week, the CHS South Grotto, was filled with festive cheer after receiving 10 boxes of donated gifts to support our students. The donations include a wide range of thoughtful presents, carefully selected to suit students across different year groups.

The Grotto is primarily supporting students who receive additional pastoral and safeguarding support, ensuring those who may need extra care at this time of year feel valued, supported, and included. Following this, and subject to availability, the Grotto will open to additional students from each year group, with visits coordinated by Heads of Year and Assistant Progress Leaders to ensure the process remains calm and respectful.

“A small act of kindness can make a big difference, and this has been a truly special initiative for our students.”
- Mr David Prophet, Headteacher

Following this initial phase, and subject to availability, the Grotto will open to additional students from each year group. Heads of Year and Assistant Pastoral Leaders are supporting the organisation of visits to ensure the process is smooth, inclusive, and respectful.

This initiative reflects CHS South’s ongoing commitment to care, community, and inclusion, especially during the festive season. A huge thank you to Mission Christmas - Cash for Kids for helping us spread joy and make a meaningful difference to our students.
