CHS South Awarded Prestigious National Recognition for Excellence in PE and Sport

CHS South is proud to announce that we have been awarded the afPE Quality Mark with Distinction for outstanding commitment to Physical Education, School Sport, and Physical Activity.

This national accolade, presented by the Association for Physical Education (afPE), recognises schools that demonstrate exceptional standards in PE, sport, and wellbeing. The award, which is valid for three years from July 2025, celebrates our school’s dedication to providing an inclusive, engaging, and high-quality curriculum that encourages every student to lead an active and healthy lifestyle.

The assessment panel praised CHS South for its creative and inclusive PE curriculum, which ensures accessibility for all pupils, including those with additional needs. They also commended our culture of continuous improvement, supported by regular staff development, lesson observations, and innovative teaching approaches.

Particular recognition was given to the leadership and enthusiasm within our PE department, where high expectations and strong relationships between staff and students create a positive and inspiring environment for learning and participation.

As part of this recognition, CHS South will be featured on the afPE Quality Mark webpage, and the award will be shared with the Department for Education and Sport England.
