On Wednesday 4th July your child will join us for their first full day as a CHS South student at our Induction Day!
Myself and the Year 7 Team have been visiting Primary Schools over the last month and it has been an absolute pleasure to meet your children; we are incredibly excited to bring everyone together next week. As you are aware the day will take place at The Hough End Centre on Mauldeth Road West. Students are welcome to arrive from 8:00am onwards and must be with us by 8:30am at the latest. Our staff have planned a fantastic day of arts activities to allow students to bond and develop their relationships together, concluding at 2:45pm when students will be free to leave. To ensure the smooth running of the day please consider the following:
- Please ensure your child arrives in their Primary School uniform.
- We will provide a free mid-morning drink and snack and lunch on Induction Day. If your child has any particular dietary requirements, please send them with a packed lunch or make us aware prior to the day.
- We are forecast to enjoy further warm weather next week. If appropriate we will conduct some activities outside so you may wish to equip your child with a hat and sun cream; we will make sure we have access to plenty of drinking water.
- We intend to photograph and film activities to document our first day together, which we intend to share with you on Induction Evening; this will also form a lasting memory of the first ever day of CHS South! If you do not wish your child to feature in the photos or video recordings, please make us aware by returning the data protection documentation recently sent to you as soon as possible.
We then invite you to join us for your first event as a CHS South parent/carer at our Induction Evening at The Hough End Centre at 6:30pm on Wednesday 4th July. This event will provide you with an opportunity to see the work we have undertaken over the course of the day, find out more about our first half term and the school, and to talk to myself and the CHS South Team.
To improve our administration and to reduce costs, we are moving all our future communications to be electronic. This includes sending out student reports, key dates, parent evening bookings and our newsletter. We therefore request that you provide an email address as soon as possible. You will be at risk of missing out on key information if you are not able to be contacted via email.
If you have any questions or concerns in the meantime please don’t hesitate to get in touch on 0161 882 1150 or at [email protected].
Mr. D. Prophet
